This report is only an approximation to an emergency diagnosis on the situation of Spanish hospitals, particularly public ones. For its preparation, the document “The Spanish Hospitals: Problems and Proposals” delivered by the author in December 1990 to the “Commission for the Analysis and Evaluation of the National Health System” has been used, as well as part of the comments and information that con The title “Spanish Hospitals: Problems and Future Prospects” presented the author, as a member of the Hospital Committee of the European Community, at the Seminar “East / West Hospital Cooperation in Europe”, held in Berlin on November 13 and 15, 1990 .
